Review of “Crossing the Tiber” by Stephen K. Ray

Crossing the TiberCrossing the Tiber by Stephen K. Ray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A very good book. Stephen Ray discusses the events that led up to him and his wife leaving their Evangelical church and converting to the Roman Catholic Church. He is very detailed about the studying they did and what factors influenced them to convert back in 1993.

After he relates their conversion story there follows two separate sections: one detailing the churches stand on baptism, including infant baptism, and another on the Eucharist. In both cases he goes back to the early church fathers as well as more modern teachings that show how the Catholic church has followed the teachings of the apostles and early church fathers for over 2000 years and still does to this day.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who has an interest in conversions stories as well as church history according the church fathers and apostles and some current teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. This book is extremely well written and documented with footnotes and a bibliography.
