Continental Divide by Laura Harner is a Complete Waste of Time and Money (even priced for Free)

I do not like this book at all. I do not object to sex in a book, and I can even take a small amount of profanity, but this book was supposed a crime thriller about the disappearance of young boys between the ages of 10 and 15 years old.

This crime is taking place on both sides of the pond in both the USA and England. The similarities between the cases entered in the Interpol data base leads to joint investigation between law enforcement officials in Phoenix, AZ and London.

This is an excellent premise for a book and could have been a 5 star crime thriller or mystery novel that just happens to have two gay main characters who get together to solve the crimes and prevent the disappearance of any more young boys. Instead the author uses every opportunity to bring the two protagonists together for sex. I don’t believe there a single chapter that I listened to that did not contain graphic sex between Remy and Jaime.

This book is more about the sex and less about the crime investigation and resolution as near as I can tell. After chapter 5 I could not take the obscene language and even more obscene sexual situations any more.

If I want constant sex I will watch a porn DVD. My biggest regret is that I wasted one of my free Audible books on it instead of getting something more mainstream by a more well established writer. Even for a free book it was a waste of time and money. I will not be reading any more books by this author.
